NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The client brief for this project was simply a retirement home that reflected the aspirations of the client – catering to a simple yet modern lifestyle. The house incorporated a series of innovations in terms of energy efficiency and utililization of natural resources available at the site. The language draws reference and respects the koothambalam that forms part of the traditional family tharavadu.
Clearstorey windows provide an array of streaming sunlight that ensures that the user will not have to ever utilize artificial day lighting throughout the span of the day.
